Almost everyone I know loves music. It does not matter what type of music. Someone said "IF MUSIC be the food of love, play on, give me excess of it." In each and everyone of us lie a little musician. How many times have you wondered how it would be for you to sing, or record a song, or just play with some notes on the microphone. Well, we are in the XXI century, and now everything is possible. The technology is here, is not expensive and everyone has access to it.
Before getting into the technical part of this article, I just wanted to emphasis that the single most important thing when creating a song is the music. A good recording setup is not enough to create a hit single. But an idea it is.
In order to record your song, you need to know that a home recording studio features at list one condenser microphone, a good audio interface, a PC/Mac, monitors and headphones. Remember to buy a mic stand and a pop filter. Those are pretty important.
Now, let's talk about the audio interface. There are many types of audio interfaces under 0, but there are several worth mentioning here: PreSonus AudioBox USB, TASCAM US-122L, EMU 0404, M-Audio Fast Track Pro, Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1 Interface.
As far as I know, Presonus and EMU 0404 are pretty good choices, but after reading some extended reviews I found the winner. It features high-quality, portable audio interface with sturdy brushed-aluminium casing24-bit/192kHz. If that's not all, this amazing baby also features 3 freely-assignable buttons and 1 controller knobMIDI and key commands support for audio software control. Well, the winner is NI Audio Kontrol 1.
